John Wessel-McCoy is Co-coordinator of Poverty Scholarship and Leadership Development for the Kairos Center. He has a background in community and labor organizing, and political education focused on lessons from social movement history. For the past fifteen years, he has developed educational programs for the Kairos Center network of community and religious leaders. He has developed and conducted immersive tours of Wall Street from the point of view of the organized poor and dispossessed. He has coordinated numerous immersive education and organizing tours to build relationships with community-based organizations in the Gulf Coast, Appalachia, the Great Lakes Industrial Belt, and Mississippi Delta.
