What is the power of religion and human rights in building movements for justice and equality in our world today? Kairos Center director and national co-chair of the Poor People’s Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival, Rev. Dr. Liz Theoharis, Swami Agnivesh, long-time activist and leader with the Arya Samaj, a Hindu reform movement, and Union Theological Seminary professor Dr. John J. Thatamanil met last fall to discuss how faith and economics are playing out in social movements of the poor. The conversation was hosted by the Kairos Center’s Shailly Gupta Barnes at The People’s Forum in NYC, and sponsored by the Kairos Center and Sadhana: Coalition of Progressive Hindus.
