As the Christmas season approaches, the Kairos Center will focus on reflecting on and reviving the power of the Biblical story that is at the root of the Christmas holiday. We will be sharing and discussing the rich theological insights about the story of Jesus’ birth that have guided and continue to emerge through the struggles of the poor and dispossessed, especially as it relates to this moment and to the growing Poor People’s Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival.
On December 12 at 1:00-2:00 PM (EST), join us for an online seminar with Kenia Alcocer. Kenia is a leader with the Union de Vecinos and the Popular Education Project (PEP). She will be sharing some of the powerful work that Union de Vecinos has been doing for the past 20 years, and will focus in particular on the ways that the community celebrates and integrates the Christmas tradition of Las Posadas into their struggle.
